Grand Bahama is the northernmost of the islands of the Bahamas, as well as the closest major island to the United States. Located just a little over 50 miles away from Florida. With tourism being the main economic driving force of the Bahamas, Grand Bahama is no exception. There’s an endless list of fun and adventurous things to do on this island.
Waterside Recreation
Sporting turquoise waters with water temperatures at around 80 degrees Fahrenheit from year to year, Grand Bahama is perfect for swimming. Most of the hotels and resorts offer jet ski rentals, and you can request for an independent tour operator as a guide. For even more adventure, there are parasailing concessions on the island’s Xanadu and Lucaya beaches. Attached to a harness and parachute, you can arrange for an offshore speed boat to pull you 400 feet into the air.
